Louth County Council and IDA Ireland today announced the conclusion of a land sale that will allow IDA to add to its recently acquired, adjoining lands at The Mell in north Drogheda.
Louth County Council Chief Executive Joan Martin said: “I was delighted to work with the IDA to identify lands which could be used to attract business and keep Louth growing as a vibrant, viable county. We are always open to attracting new businesses to the county, while also supporting local enterprises. Louth is a fantastic place to work and live and I’ve no doubt but that IDA Ireland will be successful in demonstrating that to investors.”
IDA Ireland’s Regional Business Development Manager for the North East region, James Boyle said: “The availability of a sufficient supply of quality, marketable, serviced lands is key in supporting our work in attracting investment and we endeavour to ensure we have such sites in regional areas for future strategic development to support both IDA Ireland and indigenous industries.”
Drogheda is a designated Regional Growth Centre in the National Framework Plan and Louth’s position on the Dublin-Belfast Economic Corridor positions it as a prime investment county with a strong skills base.
